Crisp Cobalt Blue Kitchen Design

Crisp and versatile, cobalt blue will work for many different kitchen decors. A strong component in several different styles liberal amounts of cobalt blue can be found in French, Tuscan, Mediterranean and country styles. While there are many different tones and hues that are blue, cobalt has a certain vibrancy that brings any room to life. Using it as a central component of a kitchen design can produce a lively space for hearth and home. Bold Cobalt Wall
Since it is such a bold color, it is the perfect choice for an accent wall. If this is too much color for your kitchen, then you may choose a wall hanging or picture that is predominantly cobalt blue to create a focal wall. Using a picture as your focal point can actually also serve as the inspiration for your entire kitchen, and you can pull your color palette from the picture. By using a piece of art as inspiration and a focal point, your kitchen will end up with a beautifully cohesive look. Of course you can also carry the color around the room by using wallpaper or stenciling a border. Glassware in Blue
One of the really great things about this color is that you can find glassware and dishes in it. They are easy to find, and almost any home goods store will stock cobalt blue crockery and glassware. You can also find enamelware in cobalt blue and carry the color scheme right through to your pots and pans. Use bottles and glassware in the same color as accents throughout your kitchen. If your cabinets form a shelf around the top of your ceiling, then you can display your cobalt blue glassware collection around your ceiling, which adds interest and color to the top or your walls. Another way to bring this color into your kitchen is through ceramic tiles. While this color is probably a little strong to use for the entire counter top, it could certainly be used in smaller areas or as trim to define a space. They can be used for countertops, back splashes and trivets. You can mount them on the wall in a grouping as well. So whether you use them for form or function, ceramic tiles can help pull this color throughout your kitchen. Well Placed Accessories
Since it is such a strong color you may want to consider that less is more. You do not want to see how many cobalt blue things that you can cram into your kitchen, but it is great having such a huge variety of things from which to choose. So if you keep your backdrop on the lighter side and use a picture for inspiration, you can pull the cobalt blue around the room with a few well placed accessories. Glassware, crockery, place mats, napkins, curtains and cookware can all be used to create a symmetry and balance with the vibrant cobalt blue color throughout your kitchen.
